Testimony

Wretch Apparel was Created in 2023 after finally, fully surrendering to Christ. I spent most of my life knowing who Jesus was. But one day the word Wretch kept echoing in my mind. That lead me to Romans 7:24 "O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?" I read all of Romans 7 after that and it hit me so hard. Romans 7:19-20 "For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it." I felt like Paul was writing to me. Following verse 24, in verse 25, my answer to who will deliver me, "I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord!" It all hit me at once. I liked the Jesus that came to save, but I never surrendered to the Lord of Lords. The definiteion of Lord is "someone or something having power, authority, or influence; a master or ruler." I was only serving myself the whole time. I kept Jesus at the door for when I needed him, but never let him into my home to repair all the brokeness. With tears streaming down my face, I surrendered it all.

The definition of a Wretch is a miserable person : one who is profoundly unhappy or in great misfortune or a base, despicable, or vile person. Thats exactly what I was and in this body of flesh, I am, forever in need of a savior. As the song says, it was Amazing grace that saved a wretch like me.
